| Edward VII Silver Fourpence 1902-1910 |
| Edward VII fourpence where not intended for circulation but were issued as a part of "maundy" money. Maundy money where used traditionally by the Monarch to distribute to the poor people in a parish. The maundy sets consisted of a silver four pence, a silver threepence, a silver twopence and a silver penny. Traditionally the number of poor people given these sets during a maundy ceremony was equal to the same years as the sovereign's life . A matt finish proof fourpence was issued along with the regular maundy fourpence for 1902 only. |
