| Florins are also called two shillings. The obverse and reverse were designed and engraved by George William de Saulles. The legend reads EDWARDVS VII GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP. The reverse is that of Brittania standing in the wind holding a trident in her right hand and a sheild with the british flag resting on the ground in her left hand. The date is below the figure of Brittania. The reverse legends read ONE FLORIN on the left and TWO SHILLINGS on the right. A matt finish proof florin was issued along with a regular florin for 1902 only. 1902-1910, 11.3 grams, 28.5mm Diameter. |
