| JAMES II Halfpenny 1685-1687 |
| Designed by John Roettier. There was only one obverses and one reverse design issued for James II halfpenny. They were only issued for three years. They were struck in tin with a copper plug in the centre. This was to deter counterfeiters, but tin isn't a hard metal so these coins tend to wear quickly. So they are hard to find in high grade. 1685-1687 Tin with copper plug, 10.3-11.8 grams, 28-30mm Diameter. |
