Victoria Double Florin "Jubilee Head" 1887-1892 |
This denomination was not popular and was only circulated for four years. It was unpopular due to the fact it was often confused with a Crown which is slightly larger. The "Jubilee head" designed by Joseph Edgar Boehm but it was engraved by L.C. Wyon. L.C. Wyon also designed and engraved the reverse. For the 1887 issue there are two noted varieties one having a Roman 1 which looks like an I an the date the another having an Arabic 1 which looks like a 1. Both types are worth much the same. |
